Ying Ying met her two cousins today. They are her only cousins - at least for the next week or two. They stopped by for a quick visit, and it was quite fun.
Ying Ying acted the way she has in every other new situation in which we've seen her - she was very shy and sat quietly watching everything that was going on around her. Stephen and Andrea are so fun and eager to be friends with
Ying Ying that it won't be long before she comes out of her shell and joins in the fun. Andrea has already set a good example of how to have a tea party. In fact,
Ying Ying "hosted" a tea party of her own for Mama,
Baba, and Mimi (her maternal grandma) a little while later after dinner.
Tomorrow is Ying Ying's big doctor visit - the one where they do zillions of tests and draw many vials of blood and possibly give her a bunch of shots. Bummer. We're expecting her to be pretty upset since she has been less than happy the other two times we've been to the doctor and those were really pretty minor visits. Fortunately she seems to be over the fever/bug she had and is feeling better, eating more, and sleeping well so we will be going to the appointment in a good state of being.
For those of you in other parts of the world - we've had four inches of snow in the last few hours. It has been a very strange winter in Seattle.
